Flexible medical and dental benefits
USUCCU provides two medical benefit plans—the Preferred Provider Plan and the Health Management Organization Plan. Family coverage, double coverage, and single coverage plans are available. Dental benefits are provided through Dental Select, offering a network of providers throughout Cache County and across the state of Utah.
Excellent life and disability insurance
We provide full-time and ¾ full-time employees a Group Life Insurance plan at no charge. The benefit pays 2½ times the employee’s annual gross income.
Employees are covered for short-term and long-term disability at no cost. Plans are designed to pay injured employees a percentage of their monthly income when they’re unable to work.
A generous 401(k) retirement plan
USU Charter Credit Union provides 401(k) Retirement Plan benefits to all qualified employees. Employees are automatically enrolled after three months of service with the company. The company contributes 9% after the first year of employment, based on a stepped-vesting schedule, with the potential for a discretionary match of up to an additional 6% yearly.
FSA and HSA plans for tax savings
Our HSA and FSA plans allow employees to set aside non-taxed payroll funds for future withdrawal to cover dependent care and medical expenses.
Incentives for education and training
Our employees’ knowledge, confidence, and experience are valuable to us. We offer financial support for eligible full-time employees to enroll in courses related to the business of the company.
We also provide in-house training to ensure our employees are positioned to perform their best. Our training programs address customer-service skills, strategies for working efficiently and effectively, methods for inspiring motivation in oneself and in coworkers, and paths for career advancement and personal accomplishment.
Paid holidays, paid leave, and bereavement leave
Our credit union celebrates 11 holidays with paid time off for qualified employees. Both part-time and full-time employees are eligible for paid time off unrelated to holidays—the number of days and types of paid leave offered are based individual employee length of service and classification.
At USUCCU, we respect coworkers’ need to mourn when family members pass away. Full-time, 3/4 full-time, and part-time employees are eligible for bereavement and funeral leave.
